Doha, Qatar – President John Dramani Mahama met with the Emir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, on the sidelines of the Doha Forum 2025, where they held bilateral talks aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two nations.

The President is in the Qatari capital to participate in the high-level international policy conference, which is running from December 6 to 7. The bilateral meeting with the Emir was a key part of the President’s itinerary, providing an opportunity to deepen diplomatic ties and discuss areas of mutual partnership.

President Mahama, who arrived in Doha on Saturday morning, was provided a Qatar Airways Executive Jet by the State of Qatar for his journey. He is scheduled to conclude his engagements at the Forum, including a critical intervention on “Education as Justice in Times of Crisis” and a panel discussion on “Economic Empowerment in Africa,” before departing Doha on Sunday.

The Doha Forum serves as a leading global platform for dialogue, bringing together world leaders and policymakers to discuss pressing international challenges.
